Enneagram Peer Consultation for Therapists

Online Guidance for Integrating the Enneagram in Therapy

Are you a licensed therapist incorporating the Enneagram into therapy?

I am, and I’d love to support you in your clinical work with your clients. I offer one-on-one Enneagram peer consultation for therapists across North Carolina and the U.S. to help when you feel stuck and to support you in doing your best work. Whether you’re looking for case consultation for therapists using the Enneagram or guidance on how to integrate the Enneagram into therapy, I can help.

I have over 150 hours of Enneagram training and have been using the Enneagram in therapy for over nine years. I also teach workshops for therapists who want to integrate the Enneagram into counseling. It’s a major specialty of mine, and I love working with other therapists to help them gain Enneagram-informed clinical insights and discover new therapeutic techniques for all nine types.

I am well-versed in understanding how trauma impacts Enneagram personality development over a lifetime. In my private practice, I specialize in childhood trauma, working with cycle breakers to heal generational trauma, and, of course, the Enneagram. I also specialize in helping people heal from the impact of narcissistic abuse and other forms of relational trauma.

How Enneagram Peer Consultation Supports Therapists

The Enneagram can be an asset in your therapeutic work.  I have witnessed clients make progress in six months that might otherwise take years when they use the Enneagram as a tool for insight and self-growth. I can help you integrate the Enneagram into therapy with Enneagram supervision for therapists allowing you to effectively tap into your clients' Enneagram blocks, essential strengths, and sources of resilience as you work with them.

I offer two options for Enneagram-informed consultation:

One-Time Enneagram Consultation for Therapists

This is a good fit for you if you have just one or two clients that you need to consult about. If you only need to learn a few strategies to apply the Enneagram in therapy to work with a certain client or Enneagram type, a one-time session would be perfect.

Ongoing Enneagram Consultation for Therapists

This is for therapists who want consistent support and to develop a supervision-like relationship with me.

What does this mean exactly? Did you ever have the privilege of having a grounded supervisor when you first got licensed—someone who helped you not only do better clinical work with your clients but also helped you understand how your own patterns were coming up? You know those case consultation sessions where you end up exploring how your stuff is showing up in your therapeutic work, and it feels more like a therapy session for you? That’s what I’m talking about.

As therapists, we need this. We are always growing and changing, and we all need spaces where we can process the complex nature of being a therapist when our history and current stressors impact how we show up in our work. I love supporting therapists in this way, especially when it involves your Enneagram type.

In these peer consultation sessions for therapists, I can help you process and gain clarity on how your Enneagram type influences your therapeutic presence. Together, we can explore your untapped strengths and work through your Enneagram blocks, expanding your capacity and increasing your therapeutic effectiveness.

Enneagram and Trauma-Informed Therapy

I specialize in both Enneagram therapy and trauma-focused work and can help you navigate how your clients' Enneagram types influence trauma responses, attachment patterns, and growth. We can also explore how your own Enneagram patterns show up in your role as a therapist.

If you’re trained in IFS, Somatic Experiencing, or other modalities, I can help you incorporate the Enneagram into your existing therapy approach. Your client’s Enneagram type will show up in absolutely everything, so it’s usually quite smooth to incorporate Enneagram work with whatever therapeutic modality you like to use.

My Background:

Before I became a counselor, I worked in public education and designed programs to help increase access to high-quality education and social services for underresourced populations. I worked with families and children as young as three years old, all the way up to young adulthood. I became a school counselor and worked with middle school students in Western North Carolina. I have a big heart for public education and experience working with children and adults across the developmental spectrum. I first started studying the Enneagram and using it for my own self-work and development over 18 years ago, so the Enneagram and I go way back.

While I was a school counselor, I started pursuing professional Enneagram education and trained with Dr. Lissa Friedman, founder of the Enneagram Embodiment Tradition. She developed this tradition after studying at the Arica School in Chile and working with hundreds of counseling clients over her career. The Embodiment Tradition of the Enneagram includes all of the regular Enneagram patterns with the added layer of body energetics and essence. Your Enneagram type’s patterns show up in your body in specific ways. Working with the energetics adds a dynamic, somatic layer that can really help people do the challenging work of their type.

After a year of training, I got certified in the Embodiment Tradition of the Enneagram. I started teaching workshops to therapists and using the Enneagram as a therapeutic tool with my counseling clients as I transitioned into clinical mental health work. I worked as a family therapist doing Intensive In-Home Therapy for several years, then opened up my private practice in Asheville, North Carolina. My practice has mostly focused on trauma and the Enneagram with adults for the last seven years. My therapy practice is completely online in North Carolina, and I offer Enneagram coaching across the globe.

I love being a counselor, and I believe that our work as therapists is more important now than ever. My focus on using trauma work and the Enneagram to break generational cycles of trauma is a true passion of mine, as is supporting other therapists in doing this excellent and meaningful work in our world.

FAQ: Enneagram Peer Consultation for Therapists

  • Who is eligible for peer consultation?
Licensed therapists, social workers, or other professionals who provide clinical mental health therapy or couples counseling.

  • What can you expect from a peer consultation session?

We will review your case consultation (maintaining confidentiality and not revealing any identifiable details). Once we have a clear understanding of what you need help with, we will explore Enneagram insights and therapeutic strategies to support your client. If you are trained in a specific modality—such as Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, or EMDR—feel free to share it with me so we can integrate it into your consultation. The Enneagram’s personality patterns often overlap with patterns seen in other therapeutic approaches, making integration quite smooth.

  • What if I don’t know a lot about the Enneagram?
That’s fine! I can teach you about it in our sessions. If you have a client who is interested in using it in therapy, I can help you learn how to incorporate Enneagram-informed therapy into your work.

  • Do I need to be certain of my client’s Enneagram type to benefit?

No, certainty isn’t required. We can examine the patterns you’ve observed and identify useful therapeutic directions while keeping an open, curious approach to Enneagram type. I can also provide key questions to help your client explore their type and deepen their self-awareness.

  • How is Enneagram consultation different from regular peer consultation?

We can explore all of the normal peer consultation topics across the mental health spectrum, but we’ll use the Enneagram as a lens to help you better understand your client’s patterns, motivations, and relational dynamics. This can provide deeper clarity and therapeutic direction in your work.

  • Can I hire you as a supervisor for clinical hours?
I am not a licensed supervisor, and peer consultation or general supervision is not the same as clinical supervision. I cannot advise you on the legal and ethical requirements in your state that a licensed supervisor would cover. However, if you’re looking for clinical case consultation with a focus on trauma therapy, Enneagram work, and interpersonal dynamics, I’d love to support you.
